In 2011, MCV "adopted" Army Unit Bravo 2-27, members of which were deployed and fighting in the mountains of Afghanistan.

With the help of the local community, volunteers raised $5,000 and used it to send an extensive Christmas gift to an Army Unit in Afghanistan.  More thirty-five large care packages were sent, containing snacks, games, videos, cigars, iPods, decorations and personal hygiene items.

The packages arrived safely and were greatly appreciated by the soldiers.
